Damasc steel - ONLY TO ORDER

RWL-34: This is a premium quality stainless powder metallurgy steel produced in Sweden. Its high carbon content (1.05%) and high chromium (14%) and molybdenum (4%) provide exceptionally high hardness and corrosion resistance. The vanadium helps to form a fine carbide structure, which results in outstanding edge retention. It produces a "bright" pattern in the damask due to its high light reflectivity.

PMC27: This is also a stainless steel, but it has a lower carbon content (0.6%) and higher chromium (18%), which also provides good corrosion resistance. Due to the lower carbon content, it is generally less hard than RWL-34, but provides excellent contrast to the latter in the damask structure, as it creates a "darker" pattern.
