Short description | Raffir® Alume is a composite material made from aluminum and a plastic. The material is easy to work with, shape and polish to a high gloss. The translucent epoxy resin makes the material and the different playing circles look very interesting and of high quality. The material has a great feel and is also warm and pleasant to the touch. A great material, especially when it comes to kitchen knives, but it is also pleasant to hold in the outdoor area. The material is easy to work with and can be worked with ordinary wood tools. The material is relatively soft, so when sanding you should start with 80-120 grit and always use a new belt, because then the material will be prevented from heating up too much. If it heats up too much, the bond between resin and metal can break. The material can be polished to a high gloss. We recommend edpolishing with a soft cloth with 1000 or 1200 grit. Occupational health and safety regulation: Please note that when working with the material, dust particles are released into the air, which is why the use of a protective mask is mandatory. |
